Description: Well preserved breviarium that probably was the first manuscript copied in the Iberian Peninsula outside Cataluña (Walker, 1998, p. 133). It probably comes from Silos (Vivancos, 2007, pp. 280 – 281). It was copied in parchment. The binding is from the 20th century. The cartulations are from two different periods: one is from the 18th century, written at the right top of the pages, numeration which repeats and omits some numbers of the page. By contrast, it also has another one, from the 19th century. The text was probably copied by a single hand in all of the manuscript, with a Visigothic script in only one column; it has also texts for the Holy Innocents. The capital letters of some biblical texts are rubricated, which indicates that those chants were intoned in a different way from the rest of the text (Walker 2020). The music notation is Hispanic vertical and it shows high Aquitanian influences. Also the music has been added in some antiphons, but in others the space for that remains blank, something that seems to be common for other chants too.
